Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament

The Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament is held in Palm Desert to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This organization is dedicated to finding cures for, as well as the prevention of, serious pediatric diseases. This particular golf tournament is St. Jude’s top grossing fundraiser in the country. Just last year in 2017, the tournament surpassed its two-million-dollar goal. The tournament brought out 75 stars, songwriters and rock legends and more. The tournament lasts the whole weekend, and prizes are awarded for such things as closest to the pin, longest drive and hole-in-ones.

Patriot Day at La Quinta Country Club

Every March, the La Quinta Country Club hosts Patriot Day, a golf tournament designed to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation. The Folds of Honor Foundation, founded in 2007, is an organization dedicated to providing educational scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen and disabled service members. The tournament includes a barbeque lunch, awards, silent and live auctions, and a dinner reception. Food Now Annual Charity Golf Classic

The Food Now Annual Charity Golf Classic is held in Palm Desert. Organized by the Family Services of the Desert, Food Now is the largest food pantry in the Coachella Valley. They provide food assistance for over 350 families every single week, and distribute over 600,000 pounds of food each year in an effort to end hunger and food insecurity. By providing meals for families in need, the organization is able to improve lives. Registration for the tournament, which is held in February, includes breakfast, lunch, prizes (there may even be an opportunity to win a rather large prize, such as a new car), auctions and, of course, golf.

Drive Against Hunger

The Drive Against Hunger is a golf tournament that donates to various charities throughout the Coachella Valley that aim to help individuals and families survive. The tournament is sponsored by the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians and the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. It is hosted by a group of volunteers from Sun City Shadow Hills, and is held at Eagle Falls Golf Course at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. The upcoming tournament is set to donate to the Galilee Center, which is dedicated to ending hunger, and the causes of hunger, in the community. They have currently raised over $150,000.

Shoopy Scramble

Held at the Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, the Shoopy Scramble is a golf tournament held to benefit the Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center of Excellence and the Melanoma Research Foundation. It is a melanoma awareness charity golf tournament, and the money that the tournament has raised has allowed the Eisenhower Medical Center to perform free skin cancer screenings, provide free transportation to and from skin cancer screenings and provide community lectures. Along with the golf tournament, there are par challenges, a longest drive contest, lunch and awards.
